Digital Transformation Consultant

Full-time, Vancouver

Gravity Union is looking for our newest Digital Transformation Consultant! This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position based primarily onsite at our office in the heart of downtown Vancouver.

A Gravity Union Digital Transformation Consultant is critical to successful client projects. This position involves working closely with clients in designing, configuring, and sustaining collaboration and employee portal solutions built on SharePoint, records management technologies, and Microsoft 365 components. An excellent listener and a problem-solver at heart, you enjoy helping others make the most out of their technical investments in their organization. This is very much a people-centered role and you enjoy coaching clients through their digital transformation journey.

The expected base salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000, but remains flexible depending on the candidate’s unique skills and experience. The determination of a candidate’s base salary within this range is based on the individual’s location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits program.

As a Digital Transformation Consultant, your day-to-day includes:

  • Working on SharePoint/Teams collaboration portals, employee portals, and applied records management projects

  • Providing the following services to clients, including the successful implementation of a full digital transformation rollout cycle through steps such as current state assessment, requirements gathering, content audit, card sorting, mind map creation, iterative prototype building and testing of new solutions, content migration, go-live and post go-live support, and training sessions

  • Other tasks may include: upfront planning of program of work, providing sessions in Microsoft 365 and records management best practices, supporting the creation of project governance models, relevant workshops, and analyzing processes to identify privacy risks

  • Leveraging empathy, change management, and your technical expertise to advise clients on best practices and optimal solutions along their digital transformation journey

  • Translating findings into clear recommendations, functional specifications, and solution roadmaps

  • Configuring and supporting information management and compliance capabilities within Microsoft 365 (ex: SharePoint Online, Purview, permission models, labels and retention schedules, content lifecycle management, site architecture, etc.)

  • Effectively setting and maintaining client expectations based on project requirements and scope, our statement of work, and clients’ functional and regulatory needs

  • Providing on-demand expert advice on digital records management principals and best practices

  • Staying up to date with relevant technologies and procedures and proactively sharing your findings with team members

  • Working towards additional relevant Microsoft certification(s)

  • Supporting internal organizational initiatives

  • Other duties as relevant and required

Are you the one?

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, a related field, or a combination of relevant education and experience

  • Minimum 3-5+ years working experience with Microsoft SharePoint and/or ECM projects, preferably in a consulting environment 

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online, especially around content management, metadata, versioning, permissions, and governance

  • Experience in applied records management, project experience in Microsoft Purview and/or Collabware/Collabspace strongly preferred

  • Experience with Power Platform (PowerApps, Power BI, and Power Automate) is an asset

  • Experience integrating M365 with third-party platforms and APIs

  • MS-700: Teams Administrator Associate certificate

  • You enjoy engaging with people and helping them solve their business challenges

  • Comfortable facilitating workshops, interviewing key persons, and synthesizing varied viewpoints

  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to self-manage

  • Strong analytical acumen

  • Empathy, a growth mindset, and excellent communication skills

  • You’re a curious person that loves to learn

Icing on the cake

  • Experience with SharePoint 2019, 2016, and 2013

  • Knowledge in Purview or other Records Management methodologies and tools s a plus

  • Exposure to content migration or cleanup

  • Knowledge or experience in any of the following areas related to AI:

    • Copilot and other AI tools such as Graph API, Microsoft Search, Viva Topics, etc.

    • AI governance - particularly with aligning compliance frameworks and Purview tools and best practices

    • Prompt engineering and AI training

    • Low code AI integration such as Power Apps and Power Builder

  • Experience working in compliance-heavy environments is an asset

  • Any other Microsoft or other relevant certifications

  • Bilingual in English and French
