Business challenge
The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) had an on-premises intranet which had reached its end-of-life. Employees used it for organizational news and updates, but it needed an overhaul to support employees’ tasks online such as submitting forms or looking up training courses.
Solution highlights
A modern employee-focused portal
The new AGLC employee portal has a modern look-and-feel and is supported across desktop and mobile devices through responsive design on SharePoint Online pages. The information architecture and structure of the site was designed with employee input for a more usable experience.
Useful information at everyone’s fingertips
Key information is not buried in documents, but instead presented on modern pages and lists. For example, an online course catalogue and a list of interpreters is easy to access and scan in lists. Key tools, policies and resources are organized in logical areas, and contextual search helps users find information when they need it.
Moved business processes online with Power Apps
Power Apps are incorporated in the employee portal for forms and business processes. There are Power Apps for submitting to be an interpreter, starting an e-requisition process for goods and services, and more.
“Gravity Union has been such a value to us and we enjoyed working with everyone on your team. One of the best vendors I have seen in a long time. You have built in fantastic customer service to your business model. We appreciate how your team went above and beyond for us.”
